National Rail Museum in Chanakya Puri, Delhi is such an engineering monumental gem that tells the stories of Engineering and Scientific strive for excellence for the ease of movement and connectivity across this vast and diverse country with varying geography. To educate our students about the history of Indian Railway, the department of Civil Engineering, FET, SGT University organized a visit to the National Rail Museum on 20th Feb. 2020. In this visit the B. Tech students of Civil and Mechanical Engineering visited the museum. As the Civil and Mechanical Engineering Infrastructure are the largest infrastructure components of Indian Railway therefore the civil and mechanical engineers play key role in the development, maintenance and technological leap of track, bridges, stations, high speed locomotive etc. This was very fruitful visit for our students which provide them an opportunity to understand the various aspect of Indian railways and important role play by their department with the help of indoor and outdoor exhibits. The star attraction of the visit were Fairy Queen consider to be the best preserved stream locomotive of her age, currently developing Ahmadabad – Mumbai high speed train model and toy train ride.
