 COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  1. To gain first-hand experience of working as an engineering professional, including the technical application of engineering knowledge.
  2. To experience the discipline of working in a professional organisation and multidisciplinary team.
  3. To develop technical, interpersonal and communication skills.

Course Outcomes

On completion of this component of curriculum, the students will be able to

  1. Apply engineering knowledge in solving real-life problems.
  2. Attain new skills and be aware of the state-of-art in engineering disciplines of their own interest.
  3. Get exposure to real-life-working environment & practices, and to attain the professionalisms.
  4. Work with multi-tasking professionals and multidisciplinary team.
  5. Prepare a technical report, to improve presentation and other soft skills.

Course Objectives

  1. To prepare students to build solid foundation in theory and practice of electronics engineering.
  2. To make electronics engineering graduate most competent and competitive for jobs in public and private organization
  3. To build extensive foundation among students to take up higher study

  1. Explain the theory and operation of Advanced Electronic components and devices.
  2. Explain the concepts of Communication & Networking.
  3. Write the programs using languages like C,C++,Java.
  4. Familiarize with application development using programming language.
  5. Solve the questions designed for recruitment tests

Catalog Description

This Course gives a description of the Advanced Electronics Components and Devices, Basics of Digital Communication, Advanced Programming using C,C++ and Test series for Competitive examinations.

In the Unit-I Advanced Electronics Components and Devices topics like Special Diodes, Diodes applications are discussed and in Unit-II Basics of Digital Communication topics like modulation techniques and types of Digital Modulations, Pulse Modulations are discussed and also with the advanced topics in Computer networks.

Unit-III describes the advanced programming using C, C++ and basics of MATLAB simulation tool.

Unit-IV discusses the applications development using simulation tools like MATLAB and advanced programming in C,C++ for Electronics applications.

Finally Unit-V describes the skills required by recruiters in the form test series depending on the different types of Organizations like IT sectors,Govt. Sectors and also for the improvement of technical skills for Competitive examinations like GATE,IES.

Unit I: Advanced Electronic Devices and its applications

Diode –Rectifiers,Clippers,Clampers. Zener Diodes, Special diodes-UJT, SCR. JFET, MOSFET, Voltage Regulators

Unit II: Communication and Networking

6Hours

Basics of   Digital Communication Transmitters, Channels and Receivers, Importance of  Digital Modulation Techniques, Types of Digital  Modulations (ASK,FSK,PSK,MSK), Speech Coding, TCP/IP Networks, Introduction to Wireless Routing protocols, Wi-FI,Wi-Max Networks.                                                                                                                                 

Unit III:  Programming Languages

Advanced programming using C, C++, Basics of Java Programming Language, Simulation using MATLAB.

 Unit IV:  Application Development using Programming Language

6Hours

Application development using C, C++,Java programming Language. Simulation using MATLAB Software for Electronics and Communication applications.

Unit V: Exploring Skills Required by Recruiters

6Hours

Practising questions for government organizations, Core Industries and preparation for higher study.
