COURSE OBJECTIVES

The objective of this course is to:

  1. Understand the relational database theory, and write relational algebra expressions for queries, logical design of databases, including the ER method and normalization approach.
  2. Understand various issues of transaction processing and concurrency control by designing and development of a database application system as part of a team.
  3. Understand design principles for logical design of databases, including the ER method and normalization approach.

COURSE OUTCOMES

  1. At the end of the course student will be able to:
  2. Creating database objects
  3. Modifying database objects and manipulating the data
  4. Retrieving the data from the database server
  5. Performing database operations in a procedural manner using pl/sql
  6. Design and Develop applications like banking, reservation system, etc. 

LIST OF EXPERIMENT:

  1. Write the queries for Data Definition and Data Manipulation Language.
  2. Write SQL queries using Comparison operators (=,<,>,etc).
  3. Write SQL queries using Logical operators.
  4. Write SQL query using SQL Operators.
  5. Write SQL queries for relational algebra.
  6. Write SQL queries for extracting data from more than one table.
  7. Write SQL queries for sub queries, nested queries.
  8. Write programme by the use of PL/SQL.
  9. Concepts for ROLL BACK, COMMIT & CHECK POINTS.
  10. Create VIEWS, CURSORS and TRGGERS & write ASSERTIONS.
  11. Create FORMS and REPORTS.
