Mechanical Engineering Department (FEAT) organized an industrial trip to Panipat Thermal Power Station of 1370 MW capacity on February 22, 2020. 22 students accompanied by some faculty members. Students got a brief overview of how electricity is actually produced in a thermal power plant starting from pulverizing coal, burning it in a furnace, producing steam from the water in a boiler, running a turbine using steam and finally producing electricity and distributing it from a switchyard. They were quite intrigued during the visit. Students posed many queries that were answered accordingly by Mr. P. K. Khurana (Executive Engineer). Students enjoyed the interaction with Engineers at PTPS since it was a technical learning experience for them.
