“Most of today’s traffic accidents are caused either due to lack of traffic rules knowledge and understanding or by neglecting traffic rules”, Keeping this thought, The Department of Civil Engineering, FEAT, SGTU organized an E-workshop on “Road Safety Awareness: Ride Safe Awareness Program (RSAP)”, on 7th April, 2021. The drawbacks of overloading were discussed as it one of major cause of accidents, then the scenario of deaths caused by road accidents in India is analyzed, after that language of roads (like traffic signals, various types of road sign, etc.) importance were overviewed along with the protective gears (Helmets IS:4151 and seat belt) necessity. A brief talk on Pre-ride checks and Riding Posture in Two wheeler riding is also explained. At the end, a discussion on safe following distance (2 seconds rule) was carried out.
